Painter was back today doing touch ups and finally got to go inside the house. I've been peeking through the windows and noticed blue tape everywhere, however today all the tape was gone so I think the gyprocker etc. had been in also
Something odd that I noticed - none of our wardrobe doors have handles? Every other handle in the house has been installed but nothing for our wardrobes.
Towel racks and toilet roll holders are in at least :D
Towel racks, yay
Last few weekends have been spent researching appliances - I think we may have two big purchases sorted!
I've been wondering how things were going for you :) It's shame that your PCI didn't happen tomorrow as expected. Surely they will try to fit it in this week before Easter... I looooovvvee your appliance choices! Tom wants to buy a new washer and dryer so badly, but ours are only a few years old and they really don't need replacing yet. Plus we are broke haha! Frantically saving for our driveway because I refuse to compromise on the plantation shutters. We are still waiting for a date, things are very very slow.
ReplyDeletehaha im still here! it's strange, things progressed at warp speed and now that we're waiting for handover the pace has dropped off completely :( and ive gone from being someone who never bothered our SS to calling MJH constantly as time & dates have become critical.
Deletepleased to say that we have PCI today and if all goes well, valuation next week and possibly keys, woooo!!! i feel as though this is unlikely though given all the public holidays - we need valuation to happen so we can get the cheque for final payment released prior to any keys in our hand.
i am in love with the fridge you bought - i keep walking past it in The Good Guys and look at it longingly hehe
we are also out of money. i thought we were doing really well with our budget as the bank account is looking healthy, however i failed to budget for the rest of our electrical (we have 1 baton light fitting in each room right now with no light bulb haha) nor did i budget for the fencing and driveway, ughhhh. so plantation shutters may very well be on hold. but arent they beauuutiful? :D what colour are you planning on getting?
hopefully things pick up for you with dates Mel!
Yay PCI! Glad to read that you don't have any major issues needing to be fixed. You must be so excited to nearly be at the finish line :D Any ideas on what you are putting on your plaque? We are being super daggy and putting something in hawaiian on ours which means 'house by the sea'. Everyone else in our street has their names or street numbers.
ReplyDeleteI think your fridge is very similar to the one we chose. I had to cram 5 dozen cupcakes (Easter baking) into our tiny old fridge today and was dreaming about the big one.
There are sooo many things to pay for! I thought we were doing well too, we have shutters and carpet taken care of and maybe half of the driveway. We have to do a retaining wall at the back before our fences can go up (mum and dad kindly are donating the fencing) which I have no money for. Plus Telstra just informed me it's $300 to get the phone line run into the property and we need a pest spraying done because I've been finding red back spiders in the house. Booooo, I want to buy fun things like bar stools!
We are doing maple coloured basswood in the living room and children's activity, chocolate basswood in the media room and then white in all of the bedrooms and bathrooms. Trust me to pick 3 different colours. We got a roller blind for our bedroom doors and will worry about the rest of the doors later. I'm sure you could just do cheap curtains in the short term if you have to save more for plantations.
I think our PCI will end up being mid May - that's just my guess though.
