Small Update

Things have certainly slowed down the last couple of days and will probably continue at a slower pace leading up to Xmas. It's amazing how used you get to things happening on your site every day - we had two sunny days without action and it felt like an eternity.

Today at least involved the delivery of some new goodies - gutters & fascia that will go up tomorrow and a whirly bird that will be installed with our roof on Monday or Tuesday.

Surfmist fascia, Monument gutters

We also got a meter box!

Our alfresco stacker doors have been removed for some reason and are now laying flat in our living area. No idea why!

We were told today that bricks should've started already but will be delayed til 18th December due to no bricklayers being available. So we'll possibly have two days of bricks before Xmas break.

Plumber that was due to arrive yesterday didn't show up but given the bricks won't be starting for a couple of weeks, there's no rush really.

Before site work began, I was thrilled at the thought of a frame by Xmas and now I need to remind
myself that I shouldn't be getting disappointed by no bricks. I think when it all starts happening, you ALWAYS want more and more.

Things are coming along well though and we're lucky to have such a lovely SS who has been keeping  us updated on everything

  1. Aww I'm sorry to hear you guys are being delayed, hopefully a brickie miraculously appears earlier than the 18th :) I know what you mean by wanting more and more, I've been so eager to finish work every day this week to see if there have been changes on the block. How on earth are we going to keep our sanity through the Christmas break? I'm trying to figure out if it is too early to start buying homewares in the Boxing Day sales haha!

    2. Just spotted your reply! We had super good news and there will still be work happening on our block over Christmas because the guy doing the roof lives down the road. I wonder if they will do they same for you? Apparently Christmas closure is from December 20 to January 6th which isn't too bad. I'm going to be hunting for ceiling fans and fancy light fixtures in the Christmas sales. I'm actually doing the Boxing Day sales in Sydney and am trying to convince my friends that we need a trailer haha! I don't know about you guys, but we have nowhere near enough stuff to fill the new house. It's only the two of us in a villa so there will be lots more rooms to furnish!
